iPhone 7, Apple Watch 2 and what Apple might be planning for Sept. 7th

Several rumours strongly point to the presentation of its flagship and most famous product with a new smart watch.

Apple had a very clear date: September 7, 2016. In their new “keynote” which will take place at the Bill Graham Civic Auditorium in San Francisco, the company will present its new products.

Cupertino are characterised by a high secrecy. Although this time they have confirmed with more time than the usual the date of their next appointment, as for what they have prepared nothing is known officially. However, there are already several rumours that strongly point to the presentation of the new iPhone, 7 and 7S, along with a new smart watch. However, the new range of MacBook Pro is almost certainly out of the “keynote”.

In short, there are so many rumours and leaks that we will make a summary of what Apple might be planning for next week.

1. iPhone 7
It is virtually certain that Tim Cook takes the stage of the Bill Graham Civic Auditorium to present the new terminal of the company. In September last year, it was the turn of the iPhone 6 S and 6S Plus. It’s time to renew and is very likely to have the new model, whose characteristics are:

– Two models: iPhone 7 and 7 Plus, 4.7 inches and 5.5 inches.

– Design: there won’t be very big news at first sight so it is likely to again cause the company speculation in terms of basic design, yes they could bring to market two new dark colours the known space Gray and deep blue.

– No headphone jack

– No 16GB model. iPhone 7 lower range would be 32GB followed by 128GB and 256GB (maybe).

– Double camera: no doubt, it would be one of the most remarkable improvements of the new terminal. However, it has been rumoured strongly that only the top model, the 7S, would have the dual camera system.
– Chip A10: The A9 in the iPhone 6S, with 2GB of RAM, was been designed by Apple and is the world’s most advanced chip for now, enabling high performance and speed. We’ll see how the A10 does because it has very high standards.

– Home Button: the new terminal could incorporate system similar to the “trackpad” of the MacBook.

2. Apple Watch 2
– Thinner design: the new smartwatch could incorporate display technology that would help thin the device (currently 10.5 millimeters).

– Battery 334 mAh, which would represent a slight improvement over the previous one.

– With GPS and network connectivity: newest improvements.

– Could be submersible.

3. MacBook Pro
Four years have passed since the company last renewed their devices. Mark Gurman, an Apple journalist specialist who is almost-never wrong, has secured in “Bloomberg” that it won’t be until October when Apple introduces its new MacBook Pro.

And not only that. Cupertino are also working on a new iPad Pro and MacBook Air USB port Type C.

4. Operating Systems
At WWDC 2016, Apple introduced the new iOS 10. It is expected, therefore, that the new iPhone 7 comes with this new operating system with a new display, an interactive screen, new interface, 3D Touch, more widgets, etc.

Sierra macOS also presented for the expected new Mac; watchOS 3 opened to developers last June, so hopefully the new Apple Watch will be true. With that said the new operating system would be available in autumn.

Facebook Messenger already has over one billion users as WhatsApp

The messaging application by Mark Zuckerberg has been growing since it got incorporated into artificial intelligence.

fb messenger

Facebook Messenger is growing by leaps and bounds. The company announced Wednesday that its instant messaging application, which will soon allow encryption end to end, generates over 1,000 million users every month, just like WhatsApp.

Last April, Facebook announced that 900 million people were those who used Facebook Messenger per month, the application that currently sits as the second most popular in iOS of all time, behind an app that can not take another place, Facebook.

Mark Zuckerberg, CEO of the popular social network, demonstrates once again why he is the king of the application market. According to the company, in almost all countries of the world, people use Messenger every day in very different ways: business and personal.

For some time now Zuckerberg and his team focused their efforts on promoting this ‘app’. One of its latest developments is that you can now make calls in a group of up to 50 people. A new possibility to follow ticking away rivals like Hangouts of Google, and Skype, from Microsoft. According to Facebook, 10% of all calls made globally, are performed via Messenger.

But from a professional point of view, Messenger has come a long way. In fact, in the last conference for developers, Zuckerberg announced that artificial intelligence would be key to his app. Facebook has long works in his own virtual assistant, Facebook M, which is integrated into the messaging application. It is the best tool with which users are served by other virtual robot users. Artificial intelligence, in this sense, is being the best ally of companies.

For this reason, every month it generates more than 1,000 million users, and the number of messages sent has doubled over the last year.

Since the Platform Messenger opened, they have launched more than 18,000 “bots” and more than 23,000 developers have registered to use the tools it has to offer.

Microsoft pays $10,000 to a woman whose computer crashed when installing Windows 10 automatically

“Nobody asked me if I wanted to upgrade,” says Teri Goldstein, owner of a travel agency in California, she decided to take the company to court “seeking compensation” for economic losses caused in her business.

Microsoft has not been successful with the campaign being carried out with Windows 10 with the aim that all users update to latest operating system the company is offering for the devices. Many users have described the installation as an “aggressive” strategy because even updates are carried out without permission.

For this reason, a woman has reported complaints to the company after Windows 10 was installed suddenly on her PC at work, completely blocking the computer. Microsoft has decided to compensate the “victim” with 10,000 dollars.

The protagonist of this curious story has a name: Teri Goldstein. “I had never heard of Windows 10”, says the newspaper. “Nobody asked me if I wanted to upgrade” she says. But the new operating system tried to settle days after Microsoft released Windows 10 in July 2015.

The update, however, failed. Teri Goldstein said her computer was locked so could not work for several days at the travel agency who she runs in Sausalito (California).

As customer service could not solve the problem, she decided to take Microsoft to court “seeking compensation” for economic losses caused in her business. This is how Teri Goldstein has won and has been indemnified.

Microsoft has decided not to appeal the sentence. Last month they paid the woman $10,000, and although denied irregularities in their practices, they say, according to “The Seatlle Times”, prefer to pay compensation instead of spending more money on an appeal.

Windows 10 was launched in July last year and its download is free until July 29, when the year of its launch is met.

Young people do not value their smartphone PIN Code

A new study shows how 93% of participants have no problem sharing the secret number of their phone, exposing access to all your personal and sensitive information.

iphone pin phoneasylum

An experiment by the universities of Würzburg and Nottingham Trent, showed the high dependency evidence that young people have of their “smartphones”. And it is such an appreciation for their mobile phone that more than a third (37.4%) value it equally to their friends while nearly 30% put it ahead of their parents and 20% appreciate their phones more than their partners.

In the experiment, the participants had to put in order people and objects by importance: 37.4% puts his phone on the same level as his close friends. Or above them.

29.4% of respondents said that their “smartphone” was just as important, or more, than their parents. Not only their families but 21.2% of respondents said that their phone was just as important, or more so, than their partner. In addition, 16.7% rated it as one of the most important things; and 1.1% said their device was the most important part of their lives.

The experiment also asked participants to place images in order. While family, friends and pets in general were located closer to the participant’s smartphones; others as co-workers or classmates passed into the background, placing their “virtual friends” over them.

“Our phones are an important part of our lives, and this study provides psychological tests on it. Our connection with these digital friends reflects that we put an incredible degree of confidence in an inanimate object. So much so, that we consider it a even closer and more important than many other people in our environment, says psychologist at the University of Wurzburg, Astrid Carolus, who led the study.

The PIN number, uncovered
With this in mind, we were surprised to see it was very easy to get the phone PIN codes out of people. People were invited to sit in a waiting room for a period of time, and then asked about their height and PIN code. Without much hesitation, the vast majority gave them away. This is worrying because it indicates that we are ready to put our family, friends and digital data we store in a risky situation.

Despite the value given to devices as a source of entertainment, information and data storage, participants have no objection to share the PIN number, exposing access to all your personal and sensitive information. During the experiment, 93% of participants gave their PIN when they asked.

According to the CEO of Kaspersky Lab Iberia, Alfonso Ramirez: “Following last year’s study of Digital Amnesia it demonstrated the strong emotional connection we have with our phones.”

“Another interesting finding was how-continuous-people rate their smartphones as an object much more important than their laptops or other devices with the same degree of information, highlighting the symbolic role of digital phones. Many users forget to secure their phones as they see them almost as an extension of themselves, and this can make them vulnerable to cyber-criminals.”

Galaxy S6 Edge+ leaks and Galaxy Tab S2 released!!

Galaxy S6

We all know the innovative and functional smartphone with curved edges – the Galaxy S6 Edge, well Samsung will have an even larger version and we just got a picture to prove it.

What we think the main or one of the objectives of launching this S6 Edge Plus or +, is to compete with the new iPhone 6S Plus that Apple is set to launch in September.

Of course, the fact of adding the name Plus, means your screen effectively will grow from the current 5.1 inch to 5.7 inches.

Reports say the device will come with Quad HD resolution and is apparently coming again without an S-Pen, which continues to indicate that this is an exclusive feature of the Galaxy Note range. The Galaxy S6 Edge+  will be presented on August 12.

Samsung launches the Galaxy Tab S2!

Now…  Samsung announced yesterday the new Galaxy Tab S2. The latest device from the South Korean company offers a breathtaking Super AMOLED screen perfectly optimized for reading and watching any kind of digital content.

The Galaxy Tab S2 has the thinnest and lightest metal frame in the market and shows the powerful performance to provide a better experience; equipping users with improved productivity and multitasking options.

“The Galaxy Tab S2 is not only the thinnest and lightest tablet but gives users quick and easy access along with a lot of superior features of visibility and productivity,” said JK Shin, CEO and president of cellphone division and IT Samsung Electronics. “We believe the Galaxy Tab S2 is the most complete visual personal device, designed for consumers that like to carry with them and use it everywhere”.

With only 5.6 mm, 9.7 inch and 265 grams of weight, the Samsung Galaxy Tab S2 is perfectly designed to read and consume content, thanks to his impressive Super AMOLED screen.

Recreating the same visual browsing experience through traditional printed media, the tablet makes it more comfortable for reading digital content, including e-books, magazines, websites and news sources. This proportion of optimized reading allows the user to enjoy a perfect experience without unnecessary scrolling.

The tablet has a deeper contrast and finer details to provide the best reading interface in its class, through its screen, which delivers 94% of natural tones to show more realistic colors (Adobe RGB color standard ).

Now users can enjoy galleries with very detailed photos and buy online, while viewing images more precisely. In addition, the Galaxy Tab S2 provides advanced display technology to show bright and natural content.

The display intelligently adjusts the colour range and saturation based on the application that we’re working on as well as temperature and ambient light sharpness. The tablet also features Read mode which changes the brightness level of the screen to allow the user to read content for long periods without hurting their eyes.

iOS 9 – Siri’s Spectacular Update

Siri is our own little pocket guide, with over 1 billion questions asked to the voice in a phone each week Apple have decided to enhance it further.

So what new features have been added to Siri?

It got prettier.

pretty siri

We all know that Apple work very hard on presentation and image, this is why a lot of people buy into them as the look and feel of their devices are elegant and easy to use and they have definitely put this into thought when it comes to Siri’s new image. Apple really have made it a lot more easy to use and better looking.

As you can see in the above picture the voice bar on Siri has turned into a Northern Lights scene and Siri now controls the search bar on your phone. “You know Siri as a helpful assistant you can talk to, but Siri is also the technology that powers Search on your iPhone and iPad. And now you can get even more answers when you type in the Search field.”

Siri now also shows you News, Contacts and Nearby places which it suggests based on information that it gathers about you, just like the iOS 8 feature of favourite people when you double-click the home button. “Your search screen is now prepopulated with contacts, apps, places nearby, and more. And it’s proactive in other places, too — making lots of little things just a little easier.” These are the four main features explained by Apple:

“Relevant people”

“See the contacts you talk with most, those you talked to last, or even those you’re next scheduled to meet.”

“Suggested apps”

“Suggested apps are triggered by your routines and what you’re most likely to use. For example, if you always read the news in the morning, your News app shows up in the Search screen at the time you normally wake up.”

“Places nearby”

“See categories of places nearby, like Food, Drink, Shopping, Fun, and more.”

“In the news”

“Based on your location, see local news that’s trending where you are.”

It got a lot smarter.

Siri no longer only operates by the touch of the button, no, Siri now operates out side of it’s home screen so that “based on the apps you commonly use and the time of day you use them, you’ll get intelligent suggestions for what you might want to do next — even before you ask.”

Here’s the five now intelligent features Apple has brought to Siri outside of it’s home:

“Listening to music and audio”

“Plug in your headphones and iOS 9 recognizes that you might want to finish the podcast you started earlier. Or connect via Bluetooth in your car, and your favorite playlist is suggested for the ride home.”

“Creating email and events”

“When you start adding people to an email message or a calendar invitation, iOS 9 suggests the people you usually include with them. iOS 9 also suggests recipients when you add commonly used subject lines or event titles.”

“Adding events to Calendar”

“If you get an email with a flight reservation or a restaurant confirmation, iOS 9 can create a suggested event in Calendar for you.”

“Timely reminders”

“If your Calendar events include locations, iOS 9 assesses traffic and notifies you when it’s time to leave. You can choose to snooze or ignore the notification, or get directions and get going.”

“Who’s calling?”

“Incoming call from an unknown number? If that number appeared in an email, iOS 9 lets you know who might be calling. And if someone sends you an email with contact information, that contact information can automatically be added to Contacts.”

From all that is to come it looks like Siri may be getting a lot more popular with it’s users.

iOS 9 – The iPad Experience

As an iPad user myself I was very eager to see what was to come to enhance my iPad experience so here is what iOS 9 is about to offer for us iPad users.

One major feature which will most definitely come in handy is the multitasking feature, this lets you open two ‘windows’ if you like so that you can watch do two things at once such as watching Taylor Swift on YouTube while you look at your Facebook or Twitter feed.

There are three different versions of multi-tasking. multitasking

Slide Over

“Now you can open a second app without leaving the one you’re in. So you can quickly browse the web, respond to a text message, or jot something down in a note, then slide that app away and get back to the one you were using before.”

Split View

“With Split View on iPad Air 2, you can go a step further and have two apps open and active at the same time. Work on a sketch with the reference photo beside it. Or write a paper while copying citations from a book in iBooks. When everything you need is right in front of you, it’s easier to focus.”

Picture in Picture

“While using FaceTime or watching a video, press the Home button and your video screen scales down to a corner of your display. Tap to open a second app, and your video continues to play — even while you use the other app. So keep watching your favorite TV show while you reply to the email that just came in.”

Quick Type

Quick Type is a keyboard with multiple shortcuts for normal use or with the use of an external keyboard.

These three features include:

quick type

Bold, italicize, or underline — even copy and paste — with just a couple of taps from your keyboard. The Shortcut Bar can also be customized for third-party apps, so the tools you need are always right where you need them.

Control the cursor on your iPad by simply moving two fingers anywhere on the screen, including over the keyboard, to select, edit, and move text.

Use keyboard shortcuts to perform even more commands on your iPad — like switching between apps or bringing up Search with a wireless keyboard. And interact with your apps using their own built-in, custom shortcuts. Just press and hold a key like Command, Option, or Control to see shortcuts in any app.
