Xiaomi faces Apple in the notebook market with its new My Notebook Air

The Chinese firm debuts in this market to diversify its product with a proposal of the MacBook but at much more affordable prices, with Windows 10 and Intel Core i5 processors in its top version.

It is no wonder that Xiaomi is now well known as the Chinese Apple. With a philosophy well marked and combined with successful sales, Xiaomi has decided to shake the market of laptops with its proposal, My Notebook Air, reminiscent in part to the design of the MacBook manufactured by the US technology giant, and which It aims to revolutionise the power on the affordable sector.

Coinciding with the arrival of its new flagship in the segment of smart phones, the Chinese firm has taken advantage introducing now computers through the front door. It’s first laptop is light, sleek, lightweight and, of course, does not lack power.

The Notebook Air will hit the Chinese market in early August in two versions depending on the size of your screen, 12.5 and 13.3 inches with Full HD resolution (1080p), and running Windows 10 for the operating system. Its design, is interesting. Weighs 1.28 kilograms and its thickness is lowered to 14 mm, a very impressive achievement. With an ultra-thin bezel frame of 5.59 mm and back-lit keyboard, this orderly incorporates an Intel Core M3 an Intel Core i5 processor at a speed of 2.5 GHz (for the top model), plus a graphics card Nvidia GeForce MX 940 and a RAM of 8 GB in the case of the most powerful model.

Its internal storage reaches 256 GB, although expandable. It has Type-C USB port (charging 50% of the battery in half an hour), two conventional USB ports and a HDMI output and headphone connections. Xiaomi promises that the battery life of the top model reaches 11.5 hours.

Prices, in fact, is its main attraction, since this kind of clone of the MacBook starts at £390 to £580 for the high end. Both variants can be found in two colours, silver and gold, although its logo is nonexistent so the firm has even dared to offer the marketing of stickers to personalise it.
