iOS 9 – Built-in Apps.

Apple is known for it’s ‘experience’ and that is why a lot of people are converting to the tech giant due to its straight forward and simple operating system and the experience is exactly what Apple have focused on with this new update.

Now I’m sure you’re just itching to hear what is to come to your device so let’s start.

“Apps that help you do more everyday”

The ‘News’ app.

Apple seem very excited about their ‘News’ app and there might be a very good reason behind that. From what we’ve seen so far ‘News’ seems to go along the lines of Google Now. It basically asks about your interests so that you can have all the news you want in one app rather than having a selection of apps cluttering your home screen.  But wait that’s not all ‘News’ can do, no, not only does ‘News’ ask you what you like in order to show you the articles you will enjoy but it learns with every use what you like. “The more you read, the more personalized the News app becomes, refining the selection of stories delivered to your screen so they are relevant to you.”

The ‘Notes’ app becomes (more) useful.

Now I’m sure you’ve never given the ‘Notes’ app a second thought but Apple have now made the ‘Notes’ app news worthy by enhancing it so that it comes in handy through your everyday life. Let’s explain:

Need a checklist? Done

Not only can you now note down your things to do but you can turn it into a checklist, ticking things off as you complete tasks or buy groceries.

Need to draw something from your brain onto something you can keep and perfect? Done

Apple have now added a draw feature so that whatever’s going on up there can be accessed in your device. Definitely handy for those creative yet forgetful minds.

What about taking a picture, map or URL to spark your memory later in the day? Done

Notes now lets you insert pictures, maps and URL’s into notesthe app so that you can have access during the day. You can also add a URL from any app by tapping the share button.

Notes now lets you insert pictures, maps and URL’s into the app so that you can have access during the day. You can also add a URL from any app by tapping the share button. Even if you want to add anything to an existing note iOS 9 has you covered as the new ‘Attachments’ feature lets you view all your notes in an updated and organised list.

Left a note on your iPad but really need it on your phone or laptop during the day? Done

Using iCloud all of your notes will be up-to-date and accessible on all of your Apple devices.

‘Maps’ let’s you see everything around you.

It’s well known that Apple Maps isn’t the best navigation app out there but Apple have added to features to improve the experience of the app by adding live transport routes and also nearby attractions. Although the transport feature could come in really handy it is unfortunately only in selected cities so for those not living in a city it doesn’t look like the feed will be of use to you. Apple have not yet said which cities this applies to but our guess is that more places will be available as times go on.

Another great feature brought to ‘Maps’ is the nearby feature that shows you popular places near you. So have you ever been in a city and not known where to eat or where to go? Well this feature could really help you when you’re lost and hungry!

‘Wallet’ just got upgraded.

“Now you can use Apple Pay to make purchases with your Discover card or store credit cards, like Kohl’s Charge or JCPenney Credit Card. Add reward cards, like Dunkin’ Donuts DD Perks, Walgreens Balance Rewards, and MyPanera, to yourWallet app and receive and redeem rewards using Apple Pay. And now you can just double-click the Home button when your iPhone is locked to access Wallet and quickly pay with Apple Pay.”WALLET

Turn your car into a disco without plugging in with ‘CarPlay’

“If your car supports wireless connection to iPhone, you can use CarPlay without plugging in. CarPlay also plays audio messages, so you can hear from people in their own voices. If you use your car’s knobs to control CarPlay, you can now take full advantage of the way they tilt and spin to scroll through lists or pan around in Maps. And apps developed by car manufacturers are supported, too — so you can control more of your car’s features without ever leaving CarPlay”
